Fantastic Model Steam Trains
As you may know, the main form of transportation in America after the civil war was the steam railroad passenger trains. However, this day and age, many people aren’t familiar with the steam locomotive history. Only true enthusiasts and collectors are up to date on its history and significance to our heritage. That’s why many collectors have model steam trains in their repertoire. The steam engine train enabled Americans and products and services to travel large distances across America from the east coast to the west coast and vice -versa. Steam trains were very accessible in those days.
Steam railroads were traditionally run by coal. The coal was burned to create kinetic energy which would thrust the train forward. Up until the second world war, they were the transportation of choice. After that, they were replaced by electric trains which is what is predominant today. The electric trains were much faster and ran much cleaner than the steam coal-burning trains. But, there has been a growing number of collectors and enthusiasts that have made the model steam train much more popular and have brought them back to life!
Because they are looked upon as reviving an antique, almost every locomotive collector or enthusiast will have one in their collection. The live steam model trains have become a growing industry. They come in many forms and sizes and can be inexpensive to very expensive if buying a part of a collection.
Model Steam Trains can be purchased online or in hobby stores or model train specialty stores. They truly add to the modeler’s railroad collection and experience.
